Melissa and Doug 40 pc Basic Cardboard Blocks

are a classic toy. I can even remember enjoying these thoroughly myself as a child. That is why Christmas 2006 I determined my boys had to have them. These particular blocks are available in 24 and 40 piece sets. I highly recommend paying the little extra to get the larger set so that your children can maximize the experience. I had to write on these blocks today because I had the joy of watching my boys (3 years and 2 years) play together with them. Their creativity never runs out with this toy. Forts, buildings, crashing walls for the bottom of the slide, the options don’t run out. They even make me want to get on the floor and play with them.

The downside to this toy? The assembly! Yes you have to fold every block into being. Not fun, but well worth the effort. That’s why are one of my favorite kid toys.
