SmartFoodsHealthyKids.Com

picture-2.pngThere’s been such a craze over being organic. If Whole Foods and Trader Joe’s is your daily hangout, this site is for you! For obvious reasons, there’s been a bit of buzz about raising health conscious kids. The Smart Foods Healthy Kids web site is not secretly run by some manufacturer or trade association but by well-qualified mom of two and environmental expert Kelly Corbet, along with a great team that strives to teach parents how to introduce more healthful habits to the family using the guidelines “yummy, fun, and guilt-free.” About $1 a month provides access to the site’s wealth of recipes, articles, and video features, including tips for feeding kids with diabetes, celiac disease, and allergies. The best part is that you can visually learn about healthy food choices with 1-to-3 minute video segments, which provide examples.

Plus, with so much hype on child obesity as well as adult obesity, this site has taught me many great alternative ways to eating and cooking healthily. Becoming more aware of portion and seeing what ingredients to take out or put in is just the beginning. For starters, I am going to make a fantastic dessert for dinner: low-sugar, gluten-free cookies!mlvi1.gif
