The Safe Side- Stranger Safety

51iafy36b4l_aa240_-1.jpgIf you happen to be looking for a way to teach your children about strangers but don’t want to scare them to much, is your answer. This video, produced by John Walsh (America’s Most Wanted) and Julie Clark (creator of Baby Einstein.), will keep your child captivated. They will learn all about the “don’t knows” (people they don’t know) and the “kinda knows” (people they only kind of know), and make a list of “safe side adults” (people that their parents have said they can trust). teaches kids the do’s and dont’s of stranger safety while entertaining in such a way that the hard reality won’t be scary. In my opinion, every household with children should own this video. I give it the highest praise. mlvi1.gif

Hmm, I may need to get this! We were in the parking lot of McDonald’s today, and Little Bear saw a pickup truck, and asked me if there were really “mean men in big trucks who steal kids.” Then she hid behind me and said, “I don’t want the mean man to see me!” I was trying to explain to her that MOST people in the world DON’T hurt children, but there are a FEW people who might, and so we just have to be careful. Maybe that video could do a better job of explaining it than I could!

I have this video and I also LOVE IT! The kids think Safe Side Superchick is hilarious and it is a great non threatening way of opening up these conversations. My daughter would hang on adults that she barely knew (soccer coaches, other kids parents, etc). There is a section that talks about kinda-knows and how you have to be careful around them, too. A must have for anyone with kids in today’s world.
