gDiapers
What a novel idea! gDiapers! The ‘g’ stands for genuine, green, global, gentle, grassroots, gee. It’s an earth-friendly hybrid diaper. Plastic-free, so it breaks down in 50-150 days; therefore, does not sit in landfill. They are also very “breathable,” so babies are less likely to develop rashes and other skin irritations. I also read somewhere that Julia Roberts uses them! Plus, they look cute. However, I have a two cons about this “diaper”: absorbency and price.
Although it’s almost eco-friendly in every way, the functionality of this diaper is almost in every way such a disappointment. I have a lot to complain about in regards to its absorbency. This diaper does not absorb well at all! I encountered tons of leaks and constant diaper changes. I was instructed to double layer their flushable refills, but major leakage still occurred. Forget using these diapers overnight, it doesn’t do its job and really frustrated me as a newly tired mom! So, I had to revert back to using Pampers Cruisers at night. I felt this negated the whole idea of being eco-friendly. Also, there is a disclaimer of some sort, “We recommend having six pair of pants on hand for full-time gDiapers use, which in the end confirms their lack of absorbency. In addition, the cost of using these diapers is incredibly expensive due to reinforcements of the refills. All in all,

Instead of gDiapers, try the Nature Babycare diapers, which are completely 100% eco-friendly and have better absorbency!

i see these everywhere (online stores) so I’m glad you reviewed them. I was curious!
Being a husband of said newly, tired mom … i would have to agree that diapers that lack absorbency is like mothers lacking sleep: kinda messy.
I disagree. The g diapers don’t leak and are very nice to use. The fact that they are a little more expensive is a small price to pay for how good they are for your babe and the environment! I maybe wouldn’t use them on a newborn because of the frequent diaper changes and the messiness of it all but my 7 month old loves them and the work like a dream!!
