No Slip Charlie by Mom Sense

THIS CONTEST HAS NOW ENDED. Congratulations on winning CRYSTAL!
If you have ever given a baby a bath, you know how slippery their sweet smooth skin are. As a first time parent, it is always a learning process to figure out how to best bathe your newborn. The challenge doesn’t seem to change for a couple of years. I know that with our first AND second we went through several bathing systems before we finally found a cheap bath recliner that we liked.
Seeing the need for a product that would cut down on the slippery nature of baby skin, Kim Shulman created No Slip Charlie. See this video below for her own description of the product.
I prepared my 3 month old for her bath as I was excited to try out the No Slip Charlie gloves. I put them on my hands. The gloves are said to fit both female and male hands. I thought this was hard to believe given the vast difference between the size of his hands and my own. However, they fit both! I attached the terry cloth top to my one glove, and started the bath. Immediately, I noticed a difference in the grip I was able to get on my baby. Her body felt more secure than usual.
The Terry cloth attachment was a little bit of a let down. I felt it needed velcro on both sides of the glove to stay on correctly. With the attachment only being on the one side I found that once it was weighed down with water and had a bit of trouble keeping it in place to wash Avery. I took the attachment off and found that washing her became much easier.
Other than the terry cloth attachment, I appreciated the additional security the gloves gave me. One thing I would caution any user on is to not let the gloves make you over-confident. You still need to be really careful when bathing baby. Remember the tub bottom (especially if you don’t have a mat on it,) can be slippery in itself. I almost lost my grip of Avery when I sat her up because of the slippery tub surface. Thankfully, I did have the gloves on though because she was able to stay in my hands and I could quickly get her back up.

I love the blue ones! My husband really does need this with our 6 month old, as we can’t even get that nifty seat that goes over the edge of the tub once Thomas is old enough to use it, since we have a shower door. And I deemed hubby king of the baths. *grin*
