Piddle Pad by Kiddopotamus

Got leaks? Then, you must have heard of the Piddle Pad. I stumbled upon this product as I was doing some research to find items that would have helped me reduce the amount of clean up during potty-training stage for my then, 3 year-old. Made of two layers of terrycloth, which provided a soft seating with high absorbency, the Piddle Pad protects car seats, stroller seats or most infant seating from diaper blowouts and potty-training accidents. Plus, lined with sealed vinyl backing, very conducive for quick and easy clean-ups. This has been a somewhat of a convenient item and the wipeable pad made potty-training somewhat stress-free! I thought it would be a great feature to have on long road trips. However, there are some “cons” to having this product. It doesn’t fit in all carseats. I purchased a new carseat during the time I was potty-training and the Piddle Pad did not fit well in the new one. There is no way to secure it in the seat, so it constantly moved and bunched up with the simple movements of my child. Furthermore, the material is not made of breathable (which is a factor of being waterproof) so Jaden got very warm while he sat in his carseat with the Piddle Pad on it. After taking a break during a road trip, I thought Jaden had an accident, but his pants were soaked with sweat from sitting on this. All in all, it does the job.

  1. That’s interesting. It’s nice not to have to pull the whole seat cover off for just a little spot. Even a little spot can leave a BIG smell.

  2. Remember that anything that didn’t come with the car seat hasn’t been crash tested to know it’s performance with that particular car seat. Third-party accessories need to be used with caution.
