Baby Sleep Bags- Merino Kids Baby Sleep Bag

I am thoroughly impressed with Merino Kids Baby Sleep Bag!  It seems so fast that our little babies grow out of the swaddlers and sleep bags. Not so with Baby Sleep Bags! These are good up to two years old! The material is 100% Natural Merino Wool from New Zealand. It has the most cuddly hand-feel and is allergy-safe.  It is made with a special slot that can be used to place a car or stroller seat belt through.  I love that idea for long trips especially.  Just looking at the sleep bag when it came in the mail I could tell that the design was well-thought out.  In fact, the Merino Kids Sleep Bag won the IF design Awards Seal of Outstanding Design Quality!  Using a sleep bag also decreases a child’s risk of SIDS since it replaces a loose blanket that is a risk factor for SIDS.

The Merino Kids Baby Sleep Bag is also “GREEN,” earth-friendly.  It is made of 100% natural fiber, renewable and biodegradable.  The Merino Wool remains unbleached and the outer layer is soft Pima cotton.

So what is the deal with it being made of Merino Wool? Apparently, New Zealand’s Merino Sheep is an amazing superfine wool fiber that modern science still cannot duplicate.  The degree of fineness and the wools natural crimp produce soft fabric laced with tiny air pockets that trap air and insulate baby on the coldest of nights.  The fiber breaths extraordinarily well, absorbing and releasing moisture to cool or warm your baby’s body as their room temperature rises and falls throughout the night.  Merino fabric will readily absorb perspiration and release it into the air to help prevent your baby from overheating and waking up damp.  Because overheating is a commonly thought risk factor for SIDS, this natural property of the Merino Wool helps protect against SIDS.  Merino Wool is also naturally fire resistant.  There are so many other reasons to love this Merino Wool and you can learn more here.

So what do I love about the design?  There is a lot of it!  It is well-thought out and practical.  I think this chart tells it better than I could.  (To view larger and easier to read visit HERE.)

I loved Avery sleeping in her sleep bag so much I kept her in it for awhile in the morning. I could tell she was incredibly comfortable.  She slept through the night like a little angel and I felt good knowing she was comfortable and temperature controlled.  At $119, this sleep bag is not cheap, however it is well worth the investment the same way a safe car seat it (in my opinion).  Baby Sleep Bags also has an infant swaddler (review coming soon!) and a Toddler Sleep Bag.

Baby Sleep Bags has been SO generous to offer one reader their choice of the Cornflower Sleep Bag or the Rose Hip Sleep bag!  All you have to do to enter is answer the question “Why is natural merino fabric so good for your baby?”.  You can find the answer by visiting the Merino Kids Baby Sleep Bag page. Thanks for the tips. These symptoms to watch out for in children are really helpful. My husband was diagnosed with sleep apnea a year or two ago and I have heard that it often runs in families. I am a little bit concerned that our children might have it as well. Now I know more about what to look for Child Sleep Solution

I tried the merino kids cocooi swaddle blanket, and it was a complete waste of time!
It was too stretchy and my babys hands kept coming out at the top so she would wake up.
I think this company rips of other products on the market – theres nothing amazing about it (which I had heard) and they have lost my vote
