When it comes to toys or most anything else, quality can often most easily be measured by the look and feel of an object. In the case of the mulch h goodwood deconstruction blocks by Aroundsquare, quality can be seen and felt right away. Included are six three dimensional h shaped blocks all painted a color of the rainbow. You can feel how well these ethically built rubberwood blocks have been constructed, a stark contrast to the vast majority of modern blocks available for children. I really love that aside from an artistic brochure with detailing how the blocks are created with care for the earth and the hands that make them, there are no instructions included with the blocks. This frees the child to explore all possibilities with the blocks in creating any number of stacking and sculptural designs. Perhaps I shouldn’t be surprised how much my husband has enjoyed experimenting with these wonderful blocks, even spelling out my son’s name!
Now that we have these 6 h blocks, I look forward to building on our collection with Aroundsquare’s various other shaped good wood blocks. These are truly heirloom quality toys that are an investment in our planet as well as your child’s creativity.
