As a mom of a little girl, my clothing tastes are admittedly a bit girlier than I anticipated. Though I’m a firm believer that bows and ruffles should not be bigger than the child wearing them, I do love the sweetness of little girl clothing. Adooka clothing recognizes the importance of the small details and produces a lovely line of organic clothing.

Elle has been wearing (and wearing) her Joyful Striped Dress quite a bit this holiday season. Starting with Thanksgiving dinner, this outfit has been a staple at many family gatherings. It has the feel and ease of a laid back Saturday outfit, yet has been tailored to wear for nicer occasions. (Which means I’m not fighting my opinionated 2 year old to put it on.) Each piece is made in the USA, based on the belief that America needs to reclaim manufacturing to provide jobs for our children once they grow up!

Adooka was created by Anne MacGilvray after the birth of her son. Recognizing that a baby changes the way you view your world, Anne set out to create clothing that was well-made and made well for our earth. The very definition of a do-it all mom (she manages a cognitive psychology research lab, as well as being a classically trained singer,) she set up the shop, Two Crows for Joy, where you can purchase the entire collection. What about the name? Adooka (pronounced uh-duck-uh) was inspired by the way her son pronounced “duck.” Sweet, isn’t it?
