My daughter clearly inherited her Dad’s love of music, and she loves for me to sing along to some type of music at all times. That being said, I’ve listened to a LOT more music in the past 10 months than ever before in my life. And throughout the past 10 months, my favorite CD to play for her is by far Elizabeth Mitchell’s “Little Seed”.
My favorite part about this CD is that while the lyrics are typically about something baby-related, the singing and guitar arrangements don’t sound baby-ish, cheesy or like lullabies at all. Instead the songs are folksy, with a lot of guitar strumming and upbeat singing. The CD is very pleasant to listen to (and more importantly sing along to!) while bathing or feeding Violet. This CD has also become a family favorite to play in the car.
