Nature Babycare Diaper

picture-4.pngI read an article recently and it stated that 50 million disposable diapers enter landfills every day where they sit there for up to 500 years.  That grasped my conscience, and I had to find an alternative method of diapering.  Cloth diapering was simply too hard and G diapers proved too expensive.  Thankfully, I discovered Nature Babycare, an award-winning ECO disposable diaper, which is kinder and gentler to your baby and the environment. Here are some features and benefits:
1) Chlorine-free absorbent
2) 100 % natural based back sheet
3) 100 % natural distribution layer
4) 100 % compost consumer
5) No latex, fragrance, or TBT (tributyl tin)
These five things reduce the green house effect since there is no plastic used!  In addition, I cannot stop raving about the softness, the fit, comfort and its absorbent material.  I have had no leaks so far!  The diaper also reduces irritation on the baby’s skin, and works just as well (if not better) as traditional diapers.mlvi1.gif

The Flipper

products_funanimal.jpgSanitizing your toothbrushes may be easier than you think. With Flipper toothbrush holders, I feel more confident that my son’s toothbrush is actually cleaning his teeth instead of spreading bacteria. As you may have read or heard, the toothbrush holder is only one small germy step above laying your toothbrush on the bathroom sink.

These clever and practical toothbrush holders suction tightly to the wall tile and keep the brushes self-contained, so there is minimal chance of passing germs from brush to brush. The best part is that it comes in a variety of colors and shapes. Your kids just push and pull their toothbrush in and out of the Flipper without ever having to touch the bristles. Plus, the Flipper also has razor holders. Even better, they are so cheap, costing $3.99 each. They are simply a fabulous addition to your bathroom.mlvi1.gif

Seventh Generation Chlorine Free Diapers

41kk33vp15l_aa280_pibundle-4topright00_aa280_sh20_.jpgReduce risk of diaper dash, get first-rate absorbency performance and help the environment. That’s all in a day’s work for the Seventh Generation Chlorine Free Diaper. This made-in-the-U.S. diaper has slowly become a favorite among eco-focused moms, and with its cloth-like comfort, babies will show you their appreciation as well. This chlorine-free diaper relieves the world of adding more dioxin pollution, which is a toxin that is believed to cause cancer. The only knock is that the seventh generation is a bit smaller, which creates a snug feel for the baby, but some more opportunities for leakage. In addition, the absorbent is gel based, so don’t be surprised if you see some gel beads leak out on a really full diaper. Still, for a little bit of a cost upgrade, you are making a giant stride for holistic parenting. mli1.gif

BOON FLO

3164z64qcml_aa280_-1.jpgFor my 3 year old, getting him to take a bath is a struggle. But once he’s in, he loves it. Now, as I have discovered the Boon Flo it’s been a cinch and it’s positive solution to our during power struggles for baths. Boon Flo is a water deflector and faucet cover that turns a regular bathtub faucet into a gentle, safe waterfall. It protects your child from leaning back into the unknown, getting suds in the eyes, allowing Mom or Dad to pour cups full of water over your head, or banging his noggin on the faucet, so the entire bathing, washing and shampooing process will be an enjoyable one. I love the fact that (for hip-trendy parents) Flo has an attractive design, sleek and stylish—no cheesy duckies or fishes here! Plus, when it’s time for me to shower, I can leave the Flo on because the shower diverter remains accessible through the upper portion of the faucet cover. The best part is the one-touch bubble bath dispenser. It releases liquid bubble soap into the flow of water and providing more fun time in the bath. It’s very easy to install. Although, it’s designed to fit standard faucets, it does not and easily comes off. So, it’s a hit or miss.mli1.gif

Boon Frog Pod

41mt3ep60sl_aa280_.jpgWhen this product first came out, I was excited. Wow, it’s a multi-functional and fun item for the bath. Bath toys accumulate and there’s nothing glorious about having those darn bath toys scattered around the bottom of my tub. That’s why I’ve bought the Frog Pod. A built-in shelf at the top of the wall-mounted base holds bath products, while additional toys and sponges can be hung from the frog’s toes. A feature that I truly can appreciate: the hard plastic is mildew-resistant. Additionally, you can scoop up the toys, rinse and then store them and snap it back into the Frog’s base. Many of you will agree that the mounting is not secure and falls off a lot. I still have mine and each time the mounting falls off, I re-attach it. But, if you don’t have the patience to do this or until Boon finds a better solution for the mounting, I give this product a…mtio2.gif

Burt’s Bees Baby Buttermilk Lotion

31zjxkq423l_aa280_.jpgSelf described as soothing, natural emollients for sensitive skin of all ages, Burt’s Bees does not disappoint. I love the smell of this delightful lotion on my childrens’ skin after bathtime. So much so, I tend to use it myself. Not only that, it truly moisturizes! I find that many of the baby lotions seem to lack in the area of true moisturization… but Burt’s bees stands above the rest and softens your (oops! or your baby’s) skin. mlvi1.gif

Aquatic Bobbers

41fkxasruwl_aa280_.jpgMy son loves these bath toys. He immerses them into the water and loves hearing them make bubble noises. As he holds them underwater the water fills up and they provide a wide variety of water straining activities. Also, the soft edges on the outer part give teething gums relief. It comes in a pack of two, one features a frog and the other features a fish. The animals bob back and forth when it’s just floating in the water, making it for an enjoyable sight. However, I noticed that after a couple of months of play in the water, the plastic started to discolor and get covered with soap scum. So, although the toys are great for a limited time only, you’re child will surely enjoy them.mtio2.gif

Munchkin Duck Bathtub

41v9pwh146l_aa280_.jpgI don’t know about you, but we went through what seemed like a gazillion baby bath tub ideas. Munchkin Duck Bathtub is the one we landed upon once our boys were able to sit well. I loved that it was soft and not too large. The beak makes a quacking sound when you squeeze it which always brought a laugh. It could easily be deflated for travel. The one bother was blowing it back up. All in all though this was a good product at a good price, $9.99.mli1.gif

Pee-pee Teepee

large_beb101.jpgChanging diapers have always left mommies and daddies of baby boys particularly vulnerable of a fountain of pee—until now. The Pee-pee Teepee was created to avert sprinkles during diaper changes. It’s cone-shaped and made of washable cotton, making for a comfortable cover of his “private” during changing time. Not only will it help you avoid accidents, but the Pee-pee Teepees come in an assortment of designs such as circus green, blue camo and my personal fave, a Santa hat. It makes for an ideal baby gift. Only downside is that it doesn’t hold secure if you have a wiggling baby, so watch out.mtio2.gif

Patemm Pad

51gqazfqtul_aa280_.jpgWhen I first became pregnant with my son, I bought a load of baby magazines to research the “best products” out there. I came across a product called Patemm Pad. It is one baby product that all moms should have! As a mom in the city, this pad has saved me in numerous situations where only unsanitary public restrooms were available. The pad easily folds to fit into a diaper bag and is circular in shape and fits perfectly to protect your baby from any filth and germs, which makes changing a diaper simple. Plus, the pad is made of oil cloth, which you can easily wipe it clean to disinfect it. You can lay it down anywhere because the pad is waterproof and thick (but not bulky). Another great thing about the Patemm pad is that it comes in two styles and two sizes and is available in an assortment of cool and trendy designs. If you purchase the pad with pockets, it’s a great substitute for an actual diaper bag because you can store 1-3 diapers, wipes and what ever else you need for the baby. Also, it can serve as a play mat for your baby to play on in the park or on the floor. It can be found online at Amazon, Patemm Round Changing Pad.mlvi.gif
