SUPER WHY!

My son loves this show. This incredible series is designed to help kids ages 3-6 read through interactive reading adventures with familiar childhood stories such as Little Red Riding Hood and Three Little Pigs. The episodes start with a preschool-related problem and teaches them how to find a resolution with literacy powers. It’s a very creative and thought-provoking show that enhances their troubleshooting skills. Check out an episode and see why my son wants to be Super Why.

Brain Quest
Brain Quest has received several accolades and its material has been approved by an advisory board comprised of teachers. But does it receive the elusive thumbs-up from mommy? I give a resounding yes! The Brain Quest is one of the first things I pack in my bag when I know I’m going to dine out or travel long distances. With educational material that ranges from early toddlers to early teens, it’s a must-have for active mommies with equally active children. Presented in Q&A format, the sleek booklet can occupy your child with educational quizzes and language introduction. It’s also a great litmus test to see where you child is in regards to milestones. Purchase this product and others in the Mommy Loves It Store to help support our site!
Signing Time DVDs
It really seems like signing has taken off in the last decade, and the Signing Time DVDs are some of the best resources in teaching your babies how to sign. Because the DVDs entertain your baby with songs, don’t be surprised if they catch on to signing very early. It is also helpful that the star teacher of the show, Rachel, has a daughter that is deaf, making her not only experienced with teaching signs, but a believer in its ultimate purpose: to create better communication between mother and child. Rachel does a great job of portraying warmth onto the screen, and before you know it your son or daughter may be signing for milk before they can even speak. The Signing Time brand offers a wide selection of DVDs and gift sets at a very reasonable price.
Leap Frog- Letter Factory Dvd
During a conversation with my friends one day, Leap Frog - Letter Factory came highly recommended. I had told them that my oldest, (3 yrs,) had really been doing well with his alphabet and I was trying to think of ways to prepare him for reading. One of my best friends, (a kindergarten teacher) brought up Leap Frog - Letter Factory. Her occupation obviously made me listen. During my next trip to the store I purchased it. I could not wait to pop it in.
Leap Frog - Letter Factory did not disappoint! My 3 year old already knows most of his letter sounds and a word that goes along with it. Not only that! It has given me a helpful tool to teach him with. Several times a day he tries to name the letters in words he sees. Because I have watched his dvd with him I’m able to remind him using the sounds and examples from Leap Frog - Letter Factory.
