Beaba Babycook

img1m.jpgAnyone can start making their own baby food. This is the secret… Beaba Babycook. Originating from France, the baby-food maker functions as a steamer, processor, warmer and blender, it has won praise throughout Europe and now is finally available to families in the U.S. This small appliance starts by steam-cooking vegetables, fruits, meat and fish in less than 15 minutes, preserving the valuable vitamins and flavors, then purees or blends them to the desired texture. Moreover, it also operates as a re-heater or defroster for precooked foods, which is ideal for busy parents like me. It comes with a 2 1/2-cup polycarbonate bowl, cooking basket, spatula and recipe booklet. The bowl and basket are dishwasher safe, and the size makes for easy storage on counter tops and in cabinets. However, it is quite pricey, and you’re likely to find some baby food processors that are half the price. mli1.gif

DWINK

31yqep7is1l_aa280_.jpgThis DWINK is a very simple product and very practical. It’s a clever product made of plastic that prevents juice squirting and spilling. The contoured shape fits drink boxes and pouches of all sizes. It’s very well made with a non-skid base and provides handles for little hands. Its also comes in cute color variations. However, I find that it’s not really necessary for moms with kids until you’ve really experienced major juice spillage.msdb1.gif

Kaboost Portable Chair Booster

31y5-kpef2l_aa280_.jpg 41fnnmispgl_aa280_.jpgI can not explain my excitement when I first saw the Kaboost advertised. It is a portable chair booster that fits on the bottom of any for legged chair. I had my reservations but they were all laid to rest when I relived the product. It really does fit most every chair I tried it on. One of the best things is that it weighs around 3 pounds and folds compactly making it perfect to throw in a suitcase for trips. My sons loves this because he can sit in a real seat and eat at the table. However, keep in mind this attaches to the bottom. There are straps to keep the child in the seat. This is a product for children who can sit all by themselves with out the need for straps. With a variety of three colors, there is surely one to fit your décor.mlvi1.gif

Skip Hop Chow Baby Food Organizer

317x5sa7nvl_aa280_.jpgI must admit, I am a sucker when it comes to cute and trendy items especially if they help me organize my messy kitchen! I really believed that the Skip Hop Chow Baby Food Organizer would do the trick. Despite it being a cute little eye candy to my kitchen, there were a lot of downfalls to this product. First, not all baby food is contained in a round, glass jars (some are in plastic rectangular ones). Second, it only fits up to a dozen jars. When I go grocery shopping, I don’t only buy only 12 jars of baby food each time, I buy than that for the week. For that reason, I use up my shelf space anyway. Third, it’s pricey…it’s $24.00. All in all, found that it was not very practical nor was it a necessity to have in the kitchen.msdb1.gif

Neat Solutions Stick-in-Place Table Topper

51-qyzyuzal_aa280_.jpgNeat Solutions Stick-in-Place Table Toppers come in handy for the parent on the go. Easy to fold into a small space, virtually weightless and completely portable these little plastic placemats give parents the peace that the surface their baby will be eating on is sanitary. With their entertaining pictures these little mats offer a distraction for baby as well. The only complaint I have with these portable placemats is that the strong, active child may be able to rip them off.mli1.gif

Bumkins SuperBib

51zricldll_aa280_.jpgA friend of mine sent me a 3 pack of Bumkins SuperBib when I found out I was pregnant with #3. I tried them out with my extremely messy boys and COULD NOT have been more pleased. They are lightweight and made of Polyester. No need to worry about toxins, they contain no PVC or Vinyl yet are completely waterproof. It is machine washable which makes cleaning a cinch. I don’t think I’ll be buying any other kind of bib from now on.mlvi1.gif

Stokke Tripp Trapp Highchair

21lur2jiil_aa200_.jpgThe Tripp Trapp is pricey and newborns who are just starting out on solids might not get the support they need for their bobbing heads, but for babies 6 months and up, it’s great and I think worth the price. The adjustable footrest and raised seat allows your little one to sit at the dinner table in clean view of the family. The chair is non-intrusive in size and it’s sleek, simple design proclaims its practical use. The Tripp Trapp also has cushions available in cute colors and prints to bring added comfort to your child when he is seated. Because the chair can grow with your child, this may be the last chair you buy until of course your husband tries to sit on it. Thankfully, it holds up to 300 pounds. The durability of the chair reflects the longevity of the Stokke brand, which has been around since 1932.mli.gif
