Alternative Earth is the organic clothing line by Alternative Apparel. The vintage inspired designs are eco-friendly, maximizing on style and comfort.  The Eco-Heather line is one of my favorites because it is the perfect blend of organic cotton, recycled polyester, and natural rayon polymers.  The three fourth sleeve henley and pant from this line are in very heavy rotation in my every day wardrobe.  They are so comfortable and I adore the way they look.  In addition to the chic eco designs for men and women, they also provide a children’s line.  Who doesn’t love simple comfy tees for their little one? Swami Baby

There’s no better start to my workout routine than with a great yoga outfit with a great meaning.  I tend to be more motivated and confident in my workout when I feel comfortable in my ensemble!

Swami Baby is a wonderful yoga clothing line for infants and toddlers as well as their parents.  Created by a yoga instructor and mother of three, Katie Holley sought out to give a “voice” to her little ones.  “Swami baby not only strives to give this wisdom a voice, but also acts as a calming reminder for adults to relax, enjoy themselves and take life one baby step at a time.”  This is such a refresher for my own life right now.  It truly does give good perspective when you are in the midst of stress.

Swami Baby carries yoga pants, organic tops, sweaters, and gifts for both adults and babies!  My favorite is their “Think Green” organic tee for babies and toddlers!

DREEM

“It all started in 2004 when I became pregnant with my first son and found it very difficult to find stylish tees to show off my bulging belly (that I was so proud of).  I searched high and low for something that made me feel sexy but everything I tried on fit me like a tent  (which isn’t a great feeling especially when your pregnant). I finally decided to launch my clothing line after becoming pregnant with my second son and deciding enough was enough and my DREEM was born. I decided to go further with my line after the birth of my second son.  I had worked so hard to get to that pre-pregnancy bod I wanted to show it off! I want my tees to scream, “I am confident, hip, and YES I am a MOM, can you believe it?” I want to thank the loves of my life: my baby boys and my husband who all inspire me everyday to be the best Mom and Wife in the world. “
-About Dreem, by Brooke Wall

Belli Threads & Little Threads

THIS CONTEST HAS NOW ENDED.  Congratulations Beverly on Winning!

“Belli Threads and Little Threads is the creation of Leslie-Anne Ball. A new mom herself, with one on the way, Leslie-Anne is aware of the fit and styles that best compliment a blossoming belly. All of the maternity tees are made with 100% cotton interlock, the cashmere of cottons. The baby items come in adorable gift boxes, perfect for a shower gift. And let’s not forget dad. The “proud new dad” caps are already a hit in many stores across North America. In fact, the entire line has been very successful with retailers. Leslie-Anne is thrilled to see the positive response to her designs and research efforts. “I really want women to enjoy their pregnancy, and a lot of that has to do with feeling good about the way you look”. With t-shirt phrases like “the baby made me eat it” expecting mom’s get to show off their sense of humour as well as their sense of style.” - Taken from Belli Threads.

When my Belli Threads & Little Threads Lil’ Bro, Big Bro, Lil’ Sis, and Big Sis shirts came in the mail I was delighted. These shirts screamed adorable! The print was perfect quality (I used to quality check t-shirt prints as a part of my previous career, so I know a little bit about printing.) The t-shirt they are printed on is made by American Apparel, which not only means they are of the highest quality, but also that they are made in the USA and sweatshop free!

My kids loved wearing their family status proudly. It even started conversations with people we met during the day. I can say with confidence…

Little Threads is giving 1 winner the opportunity to win a sibling set of shirts!!! That means two shirts from the big bro, big sis, lil’ bro, lil’ sis line! To win visit Little Threads and return to this post to comment on your favorite design. For other opportunities to win:

See Kai Run- Urban Footwear for First Steps

No Gravatar

THIS CONTEST IS NOW CLOSED. THE  WINNER IS YUNA!! CONGRATULATIONS!

What phrase equates to a stylish kid’s shoe? The answer: SEE KAI RUN! This shoe brand, approved by American Podiatric Medical Association, is just too cute for words. Here’s a brief on the story behind the birth of See Kai Run:

“Once upon a time, there was a little boy named Kai. Kai loved to play. Kai’s mom searched for shoes that would let Kai play at home and at the park. She wanted shoes that would be healthy for Kai’s growing feet. And since Kai was a stylish fella, he needed shoes that looked as hip as he was. When Kai’s mom couldn’t find what she was looking for, she decided to create her own line of perfect first shoes. ”

The See Kai Run shoe line for 6 months to 3 year-olds, has a harder sole for tougher play. The inside part of the shoes is made up of soft leather and even has a small arch support. The durable construction ensures a hand-me-down quality. I was fortunate enough to try the turquoise and brown shoes above. The straps are attached with strong velcro. Double stitching secures both the toe and heel suede pieces. The part around the ankle is lined with fur which is a great detail for the little princess.

If you are looking for a softer shoe for the baby crowd, See Kai Run carries a line for 0-18 months. Although smaller, it still carries the same stylish appeal and foot sensitive design. These shoes have also earned the American Podiatric Medical Association’s prestigious Seal of Acceptance.

SEE KAI RUN is giving away a pair of your choice from their See Kai Run line or their “Smaller” line, to one lucky Does Mommy Love It? reader. To enter, visit their site and leave a comment on this post about your favorite shooe. For additional entries:

1) Email 5 of your friends and tell them why they should check out DoesMommyLoveIt?. Be sure toCOPY us on the email (doesmommyloveit@gmail.com)! Then comment stating you did so.

Rileyroos Shoes

No Gravatar

Their Story: “Rileyroos’s design inspiration comes from a combination of European fashion trends and the American spirit and casualness. We designed the line to imitate barefoot walking and to protect little feet. The sole of a Rileyroos shoe is flexible and its rubber-padded sole curls above the toes to provide leverage as a child begins crawling. Unlike many heavy or bulky first walking shoes, Rileyroos’ lightweight construction and protective bottoms support a child’s foot as he or she starts walking and provides traction to prevent falls on slippery surfaces.”

What We Think: These shoes have been assembled beautifully! They have a little less of a sole than the Jack & Lily shoes we reviewed last week, but have more support than a Robeez slipper. These shoes have plenty of flexibility for little crawlers and cruisers and durability of the leather and construction is obvious. The toes of the shoe just barely turn up which is perfect for babies development. The adorable stitching detail on each shoe adds to its charm.

These shoes come in four sizes: 3-6 months, 6-12 months, 12-18 months, and 18-24 months. They state on their site that the shoes run a little big and I found this to be quite true. The 3-6 month seemed closer to a 6 month shoe to me. Most of the shoes run $30 while the bootie shoes run $35.

My personal favorite are in the new fall collection— for girls, the Mary Jane in Tweed. And for boys, the Sportie in Tiger.

Rileyroos is offering one Does Mommy Love It? reader the opportunity to choose their favorite size and style and there are 5 ways to enter! Please comment separately for each entry.

1.) Go to Rileyroos and choose your shoe. Be sure to state both the size, style, and color you would want.

2.) Subscribe to Does Mommy Love It? via feed reader or email. If you are already a subscriber just let us know that.

Ambajam- Where Children’s Style Comes to Play

No Gravatar

Ambajam was founded in 2006 by Alessandra Mayer. While searching for the perfect gift to give her friend’s newborn twins, everything fell short. Alessandra wanted the “perfect” gift. Hence, the inspiration to start Ambajam, aptly named after her niece, emerged. Ambajam’s motto says it all,“Where Children’s Style Comes to Play”. Alessandra has created designs that are equally contemporary, traditional, whimsical, and functional.

All of the sizing start from newborn to size 2T. However, prices vary. Shirts range from $26 to $28, sweaters cost $52, and pants are between $30-$45. Accessories include belts, which are $12 and blankets ranging from $25 to $80. Once you visit the site, you will realize that it is worth every penny.

As soon as my Ambajam package came to the door, I was thoroughly impressed. Wrapped in cellophane and tied with crayons, the packaging was simply adorable! I opened the box to discover one of the cutest onesies that I have ever seen. And when I say “cute”, I mean it’s the perfect stylistic amount of “cute”. Being that I have a newborn, not to mention my first girl, I have done my share of shopping and seeing onesies, yet everything else falls short to the onesie by Ambajam. By far, the cutest! Ambajam’s use of fun-filled bright colored fabrics attached by an applique on the shirts and along with simplicity stirs up pure delight.

Do I even dare to start on the cuddle up mini blanket? It is THE softest thing Avery owns right now. You will want a jumbo size one to swaddle your little one in (lucky they have those!). It also washes and dries well, while retaining its softness. The stitching on it matches the animal silhouettes on the shirts.

It doesn’t end there. With pants, sweaters, burp cloths and belts, your child can complete the fabulous look that Ambajam represents. Alessandra is talented— truly knows how to create a brand!

Whether you are shopping for a gift or buying for your own child, there will be no regrets with Ambajam.

And now for the best part. YES, WE HAVE A GIVE AWAY! We have a Mini-Cuddle blanket in green that can be yours if you are the lucky winner. Winner chosen at random. Two ways to win:

1) Go to Ambajam then return to this post and leave a comment about your favorite product.

2) Subscribe to our site via e-mail or our RSS feed, then leave a comment on the post saying you did so. However, if you are already a subscriber, then simply leave a comment on the post.

3) Write a post about our give away on your blog and make sure to link it back to this Ambajam post. Then, comment on this post with a permalink to your post.

Make sure you put in a separate comment for each entry!!!

Do it now! Contest ends September 30th at Midnight EST.

Restoration Hardware Baby & Child Clothing

Not too long ago we announced the birth of Restoration Hardware’s Baby & Child.  They have not disappointed us so far in their line of beautiful products.  Today we start with their organic cotton baby apparel.  Their Apparel line does not skimp on one detail of quality.  The fabric is supberb, the stitching is perfect, and the style is classic, yet sleek and modern, while still avoiding looking like baby versions of adult clothing.  The only down point is one that will be true of most Restoration Hardware products… the price.  This dress and pajamas are moderately pricey at $30.  The sweater is most definitely pricey at $79.  However, If you have it, you get the quality that will last several hand-me-downs later, and more than likely it will still be in style as well.  RH Baby & Child also has a precious shoe line, all shoes running $20-34.
