Mommy Hook

I have seen the Mommy Hook all around the city attached to strollers.  I never understood what the big fuss was about until I received one.  This hook is brilliant!  Living in the Big City, our stroller is my son’s primary means of transportation.  We are constantly taking trips to the store to pick up food and necessary items.  The heavy-duty aluminum hook has been a great holder of these bags so that I can easily attach them to the stroller!  It is light but extremely strong, and fits easily on virtually all stroller handles.  I now have the double seat Phil and Ted Vibe stroller and have had little room to place anything in my stroller.  I just clipped this hook on and placed my stroller bag on this hook along with heavy bags of groceries!  I never thought something so small would bring so much relief to me.  The Mommy Hook is definitely a little accessory that is necessary for the urban stroller mama!  It’s definitely worth the $7.99!  Be sure to check out the other items from Mom, Dad, and Baby including a waterproof first counting book!

Introducing New Sponsor Savvy Daddy

Mommies seem to have a monopoly on the blogging world, but when a great site for dads enter the scene, well, we have to spotlight it. In response to the lack of websites dedicated to dads, founder Tony Chen decided to go on the initiative and begin one himself. Launched just a few months ago, Savvydaddy.com is a web magazine and online community for dads who want to be the best dads they can be. Through combining insights and perspectives from real dads with unique research-driven articles, Savvy Daddy provides the information and connection points that all dads need with a thoughtful smirk. It has quickly grown and is currently thriving with thousands of visitors. With timely features covering topics that range from breast milk to curbing a toddler’s behavior to fighting mid-life, there are more than enough articles to keep any dad coming back for more. In addition, there are how-to articles and forums where dads converge to talk about anything that pertains to fatherhood and manhood. Because us mommies love our children and our dads…

Baby Bonkie

4160laazwbl_aa280_.jpgThe name of the product is cute (Baby Bonkie) and the styles are delightful as well with great colors and various fabric options. However, the Velcro closures are not durable enough to encase a fidgety baby or a larger-than-average baby (for instance mine). The snug blanket fits too tight, making my loved one look/feel more like a baby in a burrito wrap than a baby in a swaddling wrap. However, the lining is chenille making for a very warm refuge from a cold day. This machine washable blanket also comes available in a lot of options, with special attention paid to color details. Diapees and Wipees

carnivalbloom.jpegI thought having a smaller accessory bag that holds diapers and wipes would be practical and keep my diaper bag organized. So, I decided on buying the “Diapees and Wipees” accessory bag. The bags do come in a variety of fun and cute fabrics (toile, solids and prints). It’s made from cotton, so you can just throw it in the wash and dry when it gets dirty. The downside … I could not fit more than 3 small-sized diapers and a small container of wipes and the Velcro enclosure kept coming off. So, how many larger sized diapers (i.e. size 4 or more) could I really fit in there with enough room for the wipes? The wipes would have to find another place to dwell, thus negating the purpose of calling it “diapees and wipees.” I was so disappointed. Plus, after I washed the bags, they shrunk, and I couldn’t use it anymore (at least not in the way it was intended). However, they are ubiquitous on the Internet and various stores like Target. www.diapeesandwipees.com. msdb.gif

Skip Hop Duo Diaper Bag

41fqu602usl_aa280_.jpg is an excellent bag for those looking for something their husband won’t be ashamed to carry! This same bag comes in a variety of fabrics and colors including a large array of male-friendly colors. As a mother of 2 little ones I usually use the 2 front pockets for sippy cups; cell phone pocket for my phone; netting for some lip gloss and my keys; and the inside for the toys, diapers, and wipes.

Another great feature of this bag is that it easily attaches to stroller handles. With seperate straps in the inside for hooking around the stroller, getting it on-the-go is a cinch. The only thing I think I may like better is the skip hop bag that is just like this but with a flap over it. I can’t say for sure though because I have not tried it out. mli.gif
