Does Mommy Love It?

I have to admit that avoiding alcoholic beverages during this pregnancy has been much harder than the first.  Maybe it’s the extra stress of taking care of a toddler, or missing the delicious taste of a good wine.  I keep myself disciplined by buying non-alcoholic drinks that still taste wonderful without jeopardizing my pregnancy.  Vignette makes a lovely non-alcoholic wine country soda.  These have worked perfectly for social parties because it still makes me feel like I am drinking something with a taste more refined than most fruit juices.

Vignette Wine Country Soda is sweetened only with the juice of California varietal wine grapes.  The taste is exceptional.  They are available in Pinot Noir, Chardonnay, and Rose varieties.  In addition to their great taste, these sodas have no added sugar or fructose corn syrup, no added colors, and no preservatives!  The light carbonation can also settle a woozy stomach.

These light sparkling naturally sweet drinks are definitely my picnic drink of choice this summer!

It seems the older children grow, the less likely they are to choose water over sugary drinks.  It’s great that the company WAT-AAH! designed sugar-free water specifically targeted for kids and teens! WAT-AAH! is free of artificial flavors, artificial colors, additives and sugar. It has the essential ingredients such as magnesium, electrolytes, and oxygen. These BPA free bottles are fun to carry around because the design and graphics are so fun!  The marketing for this bottle is fabulously perfected from the colors, bottle shape, illustration, and website!  I am drawn toward companies that not only produce great products but also have a clear identity.  I flaunted these bottles at my son’s birthday party and they were gone as quickly as I put them out.  It was great to see people prefer water to sugary drinks. I definitely give this company high marks for the effort they put into helping our children drink more water!

There is something wonderfully satisfying about making your own seltzer water and soft drinks.  I recently received the Pure Starter Kit by Soda Stream. This has provided my husband and I to have such a great time experimenting with different flavored carbonated beverages.  How great is it that we have the ability to customize our own drink.  He can control the flavor, amount of flavoring, and the amount of carbonation.  It is also very easy to operate.  My husband had the machine out of the box, assembled, and had brewed a liter of delicious lemon lime soda all in less than ten minutes!   In addition to crisp soda water and the over 20 different flavors of sodas and diet sodas available including root beer, cola, and ginger ale, Soda stream also has three sugar-free citrus flavors for a light splash of flavor to sparkling water.  Soda Stream has on average 2/3 less sugar than store bought soft drinks and their diet beverages are sweetened with Splenda rather than aspartame.   Soda Stream is eco friendly because it uses washable bottles and doesn’t require electricity or batteries.    If you would like to customize your carbonated beverages with less sugar and less waste invest in the Soda Stream!
