THIS CONTEST IS NOW CLOSED.  CONGRATULATIONS, JULIE, YOU ARE THE WINNER!

After the recent explosion of vitamin drinks in the last ten years or so, I suppose it was only a matter of time before these drinks began to target a much younger audience.  Y Water is an organic, low calorie, vitamin enriched drink for children.  I was fortunate enough to experience Y Water, and was very impressed!  These have to be one of the most creative children’s beverage companies I’ve encountered.  Not only is this a drink enriched with calcium, fluoride, and vitamins A, C, and D, but also the packaging can be used as a creative toy for your child.  Each can be played with on its own, or stacked together for building using “knots” sold on the company’s website.

I must admit that I probably wouldn’t buy these on a regular basis considering that a pack of twenty-four is $40.  These would probably be more of a “special occasion” drink.  The perfect event for these drinks would be for my sons’ first birthday party.  Not only will these waters be a nutritious drink for the guests, but they can also double as their party favor.  Just buy a set of 14 knots from the website in addition to the pack of drinks and VOILA-take home gift! The team at Y Water really put a lot of thought and effort in creating their line. Be sure to visit their website to learn more about Y Water and pics of various y-water bottle contraptions.

THIS CONTEST IS NOW CLOSED!  CONGRATS TO EMILY, LETICIA AND EUNICE, YOU ARE THE WINNERS!

It’s my goal to avoid artificial ingredients in my son’s diet.  That’s why I love discovering new organic and natural foods and drinks for my family.  I recently found out about Peter Rabbit Organics and loved it!  If you are diligent about giving your child the recommended amount of fruit for the day these pouches are a perfect way to do so! You can buy an assortment of 10 for about $15.00.  They were great to keep stocked in the refrigerator because the other day as I hurriedly made my husband’s lunch, I substituted fresh fruit for one of these.  He really enjoyed the flavor and was thankful for the healthy snack he could drink.  We both likened the flavor to that of a fruit smoothie from Jamba Juice.  The plus side is that these have no added sugar.

Other great facts:

100% fruit

100% USDA Organic

Nothing Artificial

No Added Water

The design of the pouches look great and more importantly, are designed for easy drinking for children.  What I love best is that Peter Rabbit Organics is a drink that the entire family can enjoy!

Anytime I have a question about anything related to my child, I go to this site, www.keepkidshealthy.com.  It literally is a “pediatrician’s guide to your children’s health and safety.”  This is the “guru” site for anything related to your kid’s health and safety.  I love how on top of the page, there are tabs for different age groups.  This is a handy option for moms!  This site really emphasizes on the kid as a “whole” being and the better you take care of the health of your child, the safer he/she will be.  The navigation on this site is simple and makes finding answers to your questions really quickly.  Keepkidshealthy.com covers everything in full depth.  I had a question about “feeding solids” to my 5 month old at the time and went onto this site and found deep discussion on how to do it, how much to feed, how to begin, what you can feed, and etc.  It was so thoroughly explained that it built my confidence to start solids.  Also, this website has every topic covered relating to kids.  To name a few:  Immunizations, Feeding, Sickness, Safety, Nutrition, and Tips.  This is a “must have” site for all moms!

Petite Palate

THIS CONTEST IS NOW CLOSED.  CONGRATS, JACKIE H IS THE WINNER!

My baby’s a very picky eater…it’s either a yes or no. So, I was a bit hesitant about trying out Petite Palate because everything about Petite Palate sounded exceptional to me. Organic, fresh, superior taste and packed with nutrients and vitamins and I really wanted EJ to enjoy eating it. Guess what!? He thoroughly enjoyed it and Petite Palate passed with flying colors. Moms, Lisa Beels, a graduate of Cordon Blue in London and Christine Naylor, a graduate of the California Culinary Academy in San Francisco, began to perfect their own infant baby food together over playdates when their sons were very young. Once friends caught on to what these moms were doing they begged them to make some for special events. And thus began the development of what has now become Petite Palate.

Their philosphy is to change the way we feed our infants and children. Most parents start out by giving their babies jarred baby food. The jarring process (heating to high temperatures until sterilized and shelf stable), destroys many of the vitamins and nutrients that occur naturally in the food. In order to bolster the nutritional value of the jarred food, common practice is to add vitamin and mineral additives after cooking that did not come from the food itself. Petite Palate’s meals, on the other hand, are Flash Frozen, which maintains the food’s own nutritional content while sustaining the shelf life (frozen). So that in the future kids will have developed taste buds that will choose nutrition over processed foods and will set healthy eating habits for life.

Petite Palate offers fantastic menu of baby flavors such as Apple Pear Blend, Lentil Stew, Spinach Potato Puree, Split Pea Soup, Puree of Garnet Yams, and Banana Peach Blend. Available through Amazon.com.

Petite Palate has generously offered to give ONE Lucky Does Mommy Love It? reader a sample of their Premier line of baby food. To enter, visit their site and leave comment on this post. For additional entries:
