Thermal Lil' Bit Country

Maybe it’s because I am meeting such amazing southern moms, but I have a newfound appreciation for southern living.  I have fallen in love learning more about the culture.  Along with the people, I’ve also learned a bit about their sayings and phrases that prior may have well been Mandarin Chinese to me!  I discovered an adorable T-shirt company called the Southern Brand that designs all things southern.  They have clothes for the “Southern Belle”, “Southern Man”, and “Lil Ones”!

Kid's Vintage Riff-Raff

I totally adore the “Riff-Raff” tee for my son.  It’s perfect for a toddler who is as cute as a button, but also sometimes prone to a bit of mischief!   The tee is vintage soft and lightweight, and made with 100% cotton.  It’s also preshrunk, double stitched, and side seamed for a classic American fit!

Along with the Riff-Raff tee, my son has been sporting the  “Lil Bit Country” thermal.  This thermal is made in the US and printed with vegetable inks and non-formaldehyde discharges. Give you or your child a slice of the South with Southern Brand Tees!

Southern Brand is offering a Tee to one of our readers ($30 value)!  To enter, simply visit The Southern Brand and then leave a comment here on our site.

born in black

THIS CONTEST IS NOW CLOSED! CONGRATS, SARAH B., YOU ARE THE WINNER!

Black seems to be the one color that is difficult to find in children’s clothing.  Snugfits is a trendy baby boutique specializing in slogan tees and onsies in an array of colors including black.  I was able to receive their black “born in black” long sleeve lap tee.  My son looks absolutely adorable in it!  The tee’s texture is constructed from 100% single combed ring-spun cotton with a lot of elasticity.

BabyLegs

A great addition to the tee is their black and white Babyleg warmers. These are super cute and are great for added warmth during the winter months.  I love having my son run around the apartment in an onesie and baby leggings.  If you are looking for great holiday gifts for new moms Snugfits offers various tees, funny onesies, and Babylegs to suit any toddler!

Under the Nile

Under the Nile boasts an impressive collection of clothing, blankets, toys, diapers, and accessories – all made with 100% Egyptian organic cotton.  I was sent the Summer Babybody for review and was very pleased with it.  Very cute monkey print and extremely soft cotton… If you’ve jumped on the organic bandwagon, Under the Nile is definitely worth checking out.  As far as apparel goes, they cover all the bases in infant clothing – onesies, gowns, pajamas, footies, and dresses – no flashy patterns here, just your basic  stuff made with quality cotton that’s:  grown in Egypt, hand-picked, organically cultivated, dyed with natural colors, and fair traded for the benefit of all people producing the product.

Swami Baby

There’s no better start to my workout routine than with a great yoga outfit with a great meaning.  I tend to be more motivated and confident in my workout when I feel comfortable in my ensemble!

Swami Baby is a wonderful yoga clothing line for infants and toddlers as well as their parents.  Created by a yoga instructor and mother of three, Katie Holley sought out to give a “voice” to her little ones.  “Swami baby not only strives to give this wisdom a voice, but also acts as a calming reminder for adults to relax, enjoy themselves and take life one baby step at a time.”  This is such a refresher for my own life right now.  It truly does give good perspective when you are in the midst of stress.

Swami Baby carries yoga pants, organic tops, sweaters, and gifts for both adults and babies!  My favorite is their “Think Green” organic tee for babies and toddlers!

BioME5

biome5_logoshortsleeve-qshortsleeve-ashortsleeve-kWith all the hype around organic apparel, let BioME5 NOT be missed.

Maker of kid’s apparel BioME5 was created by two architectural designers who combine their fascination with nature’s beauty with an appreciation of the visual learning processes inherent in all children.  Their graphics are vivid, colorful, and imaginative, and introduces the child to animals of the wild not often mentioned in other books (jaguar, xenops, urchin…)

My son was immediately drawn to it when he opened his Q (quail) shirt and loves sporting it.  I love how the text appears strangely upside down to anyone but the child wearing it… But when my little boy sports this shirt and looks down to see how quail is spelled, it’s a perfect fit.

Kudos to BioME5 for making their products with kids in mind!

Egg Press

I find it sad that many people have traded in personal card writing for quick and impersonal emails and now texts!  I find it incredibly encouraging and uplifting to receive a beautifully written message in an artistic card from a friend or loved one.

Egg Press makes the most amazing greeting cards using an old letterpress.  They use an antique press to print art on cards, calendars and more.  What I love best is that the studio resides in an old warehouse in Portland, Oregon.  It’s hard not supporting a line with such a wonderfully vintage look.  I was fortunate enough to receive their 2010 calendar that sits beautifully on my desk and an adorable screen-printed baby onesie.  They are most famous for their hand-made letterpress greeting card line.  I have personally loved using these cards for expressing my gratitude to my closest friends or just saying that I am thinking of them.

Egg press makes sending a personal card to a friend very enticing because they provide such wonderful starting points with their designs. Some of my favorites are “Oceans of Thanks”, “Vinyl Thank You”, and “I Love Your Birthday”.  Shop Egg Press when in need for cards or seek them out to personalize a set for a special occasion!

Squishy Fish is a Canadian owned company that uses 100% certified cotton for their adorable designed onesies and tees for babies and toddlers. I love how simplistic each of the six different designs are. I have the squishy fish logo on my son’s tee and absolutely adore it.

The texture of the tee is incredibly soft due to the organic fabric. Organic cotton is produced using little to no pesticides and most importantly, has a low impact on the environment. Little Showoffs

organicbaby

THIS CONTEST IS NOW CLOSED.  CONGRATS BREEZY MOM, YOU ARE THE WINNER!

I usually tend to avoid slogan tee shirts for my son because I find most of them to be more than a little over the top and rather corny. Subtle humor and simplistic design combined with organic fabrics makes Little Showoffs stand apart. I adore organic fabrics because the quality is usually much better than synthetic fibers and they are eco-friendly. I have seen pictures of Little Showoffs tee shirts in a couple of magazines and online, and thought I would give them a try. My son has the “organic baby” t-shirt and it has become one of my favorite tee shirts of his. The tee is made from 100% ring spun certified organic cotton in the natural color. This cotton is “noticeably softer and higher in quality than the carded cotton used by others”. There was a difference to be seen and felt when I had my son wear it.
Jacqueline Fair, mother of two, had the passion to create simple and expressive tees for babies, toddlers, and adults that said little showoff expressions. There are various sizes and different colors available with different sayings. Some of my favorites are “still breastfeeding”, “warning I’m two”, and “future artist”. You can also purchase a pair of karate pants for a complete outfit. I look forward to the day I can have another shirt made that says “big brother”!

Our products are packaged in award-winning, ready-to-mail gift box made from recycled paper. A Kee-Ka gift is especially meaningful because it is bundled with the best intentions.”
