Grid-It from Cocoon Innovations

No Gravatar

I am currently enjoying a visit with my family in beautiful Montana (Big Sky Country if you want to sound cool and native).  Let me show you a picture! Oh, wait. I forgot my camera battery charger.  And the connector cable.  Has anyone ever remembered to bring all of the gadgets that have become so essential to our lives?  Cocoon Innovations had us disorganized (or simply forgetful) travelers in mind when they came up with their simple but ingenious Grid-It packing companion.

Grid-It is a series of interwoven elastic bands designed to hold anything and everything you need to keep in one place.  Cocoon markets Grid-It mostly toward keeping electronics and personal effects firmly in place but you could really use it for just about anything.  I received my Grid-It while traveling and I used it to secure a baby monitor, iPhone charger, my glasses case and some baby socks.  All things that tend to sneak away from me when I’m not looking.

Grid-It comes in several different sizes and even has options to fit a sun-visor or 3-ring binder.  Another great feature is a zippered pocket on the backside for any thin items you want to store.

My Grid-It will definitely be coming along on future trips and next time you’ll get some great pictures, I promise!

Cocoon Innovations is offering a Grid-It to one of our readers! Simply visit the site and leave a comment here that you did.

EuroTote by LilleBaby

twomomsandbabyTHIS CONTEST IS NOW CLOSED!  CONGRATS, MEGAN, YOU ARE THE WINNER!

As a New Yorker, versatility is one of the most important features to any product I purchase.  My living space is so limited and I value simplicity. Based on what I had heard, EuroTote seemed like a perfect fit for my life.

According to LilleBaby, the EuroTote is a 5-in-1 Moses-style baby carrier that blends Scandinavian design with American functionality.  This one product can convert into a Moses carrier, bunting bag, stroller bag, play mat, and traveler bed!  For $120.00 you are getting the most for your dollar.  Usually products that can morph to fit so many of my needs weigh a ton but the EuroTote is only 1.5pounds!  Carrying it around in the city as a moses carrier, for me, might be a bit much.  However, all the other options suit my lifestyle.

I am partial to tidy construction and the EuroTote showed just this!  The material appeared and felt of one made with top quality.  You can also adjust this product to fit different seasons because the mesh tops can be interchanged.  This is a fabulous product and I love it!

Snack Ball Container by Boon

Having two great eaters in my household, snacks around the house is a necessity.  So is having snacks in my bag while I shop, travel, and etc. Also, my second son has started finger feeding himself, so I have decided to carry Cheerios around in the Snack ball container by Boon. I love this container because of the modern, minimal shape and style. Plus, orange is a favorite color of mine. Also, having products that are BPA, Phthalate, and PVC free is a must in our house and Boon’s products like the Snack ball container is. This ball concept is great. Easily slide open the top to get little hands in to pick out their snack, the fun, sphere-shaped container acts as a toy when closed. The rigid form protects the snacks from being crushed. It’s simple to wash, just unscrew the two halves. It’s compact enough for travel and the round shape hold a good amount of snacks. However, I have one complaint. When my son is sitting the stroller, I cannot put down this snack container on the tray because it does not have a flat surface. My son is not old enough yet to hold it and pick the snacks out with his hands. I find that having a flat surface even if it’s a small one to still somewhat retain the circular shape, would make it easier for me because when I need to refill the snack, I can put it down without holding it. Since it’s made without the flat surface, it rolls away a lot and I find myself stopping it.

Sony DVPFX810 8″ Portable DVD Player Black

41kubejiobl_aa280_.jpgWhether it’s long road trips, holiday flights or the occasional restaurant outing where you just want to focus on eating and nothing else, a nice DVD player is a must have. Although it’s important to be picky, DVD players are notorious for a short lifespan, either by accident (water spillage or getting dropped) or by overuse. So, without breaking the bank, I think the best DVD player under $200 is the Sony Portable DVD Player. For its manageable price tag, it looks surprisingly sleek and sturdy, and although black is their best-selling unit, it can also be purchased in cherry red or pink. Obviously, the screen resolution is what you would expect from a typical LCD monitor. The Sony DVD’s greatest features are the long battery life (easily four hours with power left over), and its smooth, swiveling monitor screen. So, while your child enjoys watching another episode of Dora, you definitely will get your return on investment—and maybe some of your sanity as well. mlvi1.gif

Maclaren Volo Stroller

415sl35d9l_aa280_.jpgThe Maclaren Volo Stroller is hands-down the best umbrella stroller I have ever come across! Yes, it costs more than your average umbrella stroller at $99.00, but I have found for our family situation it has been well worth it! First, it is far more durable than your normal umbrella stoller. Second it holds weight better. Third, it has more storage space. Forth, it is taller (my husband is 6’5″). Fifth, it is more comfortable for both baby and parents. And sixth, it is breathable. Can you tell I love this stroller? The great thing about the durability is that it lasts through all of your children! Not too many umbrella strollers look as good as new when your children have all grown out of them. This stroller comes in a variety of fun colors as well.mlvi1.gif

Sit’n'Stroll 5-n-1 Combination Carseat/Stroller

No Gravatar

21tld86saal_aa250_.jpgThis is a travel must for the parents who are on the go and prefer to take the children along. I have used it on many trips including one to Florida I just got back from. If you aren’t familiar with the convenience of these for travel let me explain.

  1. If you prefer your toddler/baby to have their own seat on the plane this is the way to go.  The is FAA approved and provides a comfy journey for both the forward facing and rear facing child.
  2. Grabbing a taxi from the airport? No problem, the is approved for car use as well. The rear-facing weight max is 30lbs, while the front-facing weight max is 40lbs.
  3. Feel like it is just a pain to have both a carseat and stroller? Looking for a way to take as little as possible? No problem! With 2 clicks, 1 to raise the adjustable handle and the other to push down the wheels, you are good to go with a stroller!
  4. Staying at your parents and they don’t have a high-chair? No problem, the also can be used as a booster seat on a chair.

With all these perks you can see why for travel…mlvi.gif
